The late 1950s and early '60s were the golden era for Rock 'n' Roll Instrumentals, and Sandy Nelson was by far the biggest drumming star of the time. He was already a well-known session drummer by the time he reached his late teens, and his first solo record Teen Beat became a million-selling worldwide hit in 1959. In 1961 he scored an even bigger international hit with Let There Be Drums which span off a million-selling LP of the same title. This CD collection gathers Sandy Nelson's first seven singles, plus the entire contents of his first three LPs.
