Nick Curran's Reform School Girl is brilliant Blasting Rock 'n' Roll and Rockin' Rhythm and Blues.
This is wild stuff which captures the essence of the great 1950s black rockers - with a huge Little Richard influence and a touch of Chuck Berry and Screaming Jay Hawkins too.
Authentic but not purist, Curran and his Lowlifes make this album sound their own, very real and very now, rather than a subdued copy of the original wildmen of the '50s.
