Jerry King and The Rivertown Ramblers
Ocala Baby CD
Jerry King and The Rivertown Ramblers have done it once again! 15 self penned tracks which capture the energy and spirit of the original Rockabilly masters, injecting the traditional sound with the necessary authenticity to make it sound like it was indeed recorded in the 1950s during Sun Records' heyday. Also inspired by King Records, the band is built like the prototypical Rockabilly crew, with stand-up bass, shuffling beats, twangy driving guitar and songs about broken hearts and lost loves.
Singer Jerry King has the vocal presence of a youthful, late '50s Elvis, speckled with a barrage of inspired "C'mons" and hiccups that slap-back with wet, echoing reverb.
The group's motor runs at a high-octane pace - that's when they are at their most
effective. The performances are priceless and the lively recording techniques give the album an undeniably vintage vibe. Jerry King and the Rivertown Ramblers are the real deal as this all-original album shows.
