Rhythm & Blues wildman Screaming Jay Hawkins was one of the earliest artists to mix Horror with Rock 'n' Roll, assembling an outfit that included a cigarette-smoking skull called Henry, tusks worn through the nose and onstage snakes and fireworks.
His antics and unique singing style earned him the title of a Rock 'n' Roll madman, a moniker that he revelled in both on and off stage.
He is rumoured to have fathered as many as 75 children!
A musical career of some 40 years produced many highlights, such as She Put The Wammee On Me, I Hear Voices, and Monkberry Moon Delight included here.
