Now at last, it’s Ricky Nelson’s turn, so this four-disc box set is a very welcome release, not only for fans of Ricky Nelson, but also the thousands of rockabilly aficionados around the world.
Every one of the 127 tracks included here in the set has been digitally mastered from the original Verve and Imperial Records studio tapes to give the listener totally superb quality sound!
It makes fascinating listening to hear Ricky making a few attempts before getting it right.
Also, we hear studio chat from the Jordanaires, producer Jimmie Haskell, Ricky’s father Ozzie Nelson and, of course Ricky himself, all the complete Verve sessions, and not forgetting the many previously unreleased alternative versions included here from the Imperial years, along with instrumental attempts of some Ricky's best known songs and also new stereo versions, all of them sounding truly superb.
