Ray Ellington
That Rock 'n' Rollin' Man CD
In a prolific forty-year recording career, singer/drummer/bandleader Ray Ellington covered many genres.
During the mid 1950s he became one of the very first British artists to cover US Rock 'n' Roll hits, although he had already been covering US Rhythm & Blues since the late '40s.
This 30 track collection gathers everything that Ellington recorded between 1954 and 1960 which might be construed as Rock’n’ Roll, including his covers of ABC Boogie, Shake Rattle and Roll, Framed, Ko Ko Mo, Earth Angel, Stranded In The Jungle, Giddy Up A Ding Dong, Tutti Frutti and Little Darlin’.
Several of the tracks featured here have never previously been released on CD.
