Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dolls were around from 2000 to 2010, fit into the psychobilly/garage genres and appealing the fans of The Cramps and the like.
More recently they became the Big John Bates Noirchestra with the sound becoming even darker and more varied thanks to the double bass and cello played by Brandy Bones.
Their sound developed and expended, whilst still retaining the Dark Country and rockabilly.
The band describes their style as Americana Noir.
