The Piltdown Men meet B. Bumble & The Stingers Nut Rockin' and Brontosaurus Stompin' CD
A great collection gathering all the singles - A & B sides - released between 1960 and 1962 from two great instrumental rock 'n' roll groups. There was a time when instrumentals and instrumental combos ruled the UK's airwaves and frequently landed at or near the top of our charts. Unlike the The Shadows or The Ventures, the two groups featured here did not really exist outside of the studio. Both the Piltdown Men and B. Bumble and the Stingers have left their permanent mark on instrumental rock history in much the same way. Both were comprised of members from the pool of Los Angeles studio musicians that we tend to use the 'catch all' of The Wrecking Crew to describe, and both scored hits with adaptations of classical music and both were considerably more popular in the UK than they were back home. This album features the A and B sides of every 45 that the two groups released between 1960 and 1962 - in the case of the Piltdowns, their complete discography. It includes every UK chart hit that both groups ever had, with several tracks being issued on CD for the first time.
