The Phantom Cowboys are a rockabilly-styled four piece with a distinctive, darkly humorous sound they term as 'voodoo jive'.
The group's sound nevertheless defies easy categorization with a wide range of influences and The Phantom Cowboys have been compared to everything from The Stray Cats to The Damned:
"Certainly rockabilly elements - but maybe Gothabilly is what they are, with a resemblance to The Cramps – and perhaps some sinister Stray Cat Strut moments."
They released their debut album Down & Out At The Club Cruella in 1998.
After appearing on New York label, Skully Records' influential Gothabilly series of compilations in 1999, the band split up.
They reformed in 2015 for a series of live reunion dates and returned to the studio in early 2016 to record what would become their first release for over 15 years, Dead Men's Clothes EP.
The band continues to play live and write new material and an album release is planned for 2017.
