Although Oscar Wills was never a full-time musician, he recorded prolifically, usually for his own record label Speed Records, creating a highly entertaining body of work that showed him to be a tough guitarist and a witty lyricist, with a sharp eye for detail.
His original records, many of which were only pressed in limited numbers, have been serious collectors’ items for decades.
He remains best known for Flatfoot Sam, a 1957 hit which has been reissued on countless Blues, R&B, Rock 'n' Roll and Rockabilly compilations.
Being the first comprehensive collection of T.V. Slim’s recordings, a great number of these super-rare cuts have never previously appeared on CD.
This is a remarkable body of work which it may even help elevate Slim from his “Great Unknowns” status.
