Good Rock and Roll For Dancing! CD
Leiber Stoller Big Band
Good Rock and Roll For Dancing! CD
This is the first CD release to combine the two legendary albums made by the great songwriting team of Jerry Leiber & Mike Stoller.
Scooby Doo was released in 1956 under Jerry Leiber’s name and it is chock full of, as the title suggests, Good Rock 'n' Roll for Dancing, played by the cream of Los Angeles musicians including Ernie Freeman and Plas Johnson.
Yakety Yak followed in 1960 and includes 11 superb versions of their biggest hits including Bazoom, Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog and of course Yakety Yak all played by what is essentially the Count Basie Band just without the Count himself.
Great stuff with fully detailed liner notes.
