Joe and Rose Lee Maphis
Ridin' The Frets CD

Joe Maphis is credited with creating the guitar flatpicking style.  He became known as King Of The Strings for his lightning-fast Hillbilly guitar picking, inspiring other great guitar players including Jimmy Bryant, Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Larry Collins.
During the 1950s Joe played on many Rockabilly recordings including songs by Wanda Jackson, Ricky Nelson and many others, but on this collection it's his own recordings, both solo and with his wife Rose Lee Maphis that are the focus, showing what an amazing guitar player Maphis was.
