Red hot, rare and bluesy sides from Johnny Otis' meteoric 1950s Dig Records label. Featuring Al Simmons, Sidney Maiden, Moose John, TW Sams, Jimmy Nolan, Slim Green, Abe Moore, Little Billy Robbins, Larry Waters and many others. Dig Records was run by Johnny Otis in the mid to late 1950s. In his travels across the country with the Johnny Otis Caravan, he encountered many upcoming talented musicians, most which remain pretty obscure. This disc features the first recordings by Johnny "Big Moose" Walker, who later became well known on the Chicago circuit playing with Earl Hooker. Sugarcane Harris is also aboard - he later played with lap steel player Freddie Roulette. These rare tracks have been fully remastered, mostly from the original tapes. Fans of 1950s blues and R&B will find some real gems here!
