The Lonely Years CD
The Malingerers
Lonely Years CD
Hailing from the long gone lonesome plains of East Anglia, The Malingerers music evokes a sound more at home in the south western states of America than the UK.
However, whilst clearly influenced from a melting pot of traditional Country, Blues and Rock 'n' Roll (Hank Williams, Merle Travis, Leadbelly etc.) their music combines these influences with typically British cynicism and warped sense of humour and history.
The Malingerers were formed from the ashes of twisted country blues noise mongers The Surgens. who achieved 4**** reviews in Mojo Magazine, live radio sessions on Mark Lamarr and Marc Riley Radio shows, plus ‘record of the week’ on the Shaun Keaveny show.
Whilst clearly sharing similar DNA, The Malingerers are an entirely different animal with an almost alternatively traditional acoustic Americana slant.
