"The LOW Road is a title that I’ve had in mind for a number of years and have been waiting for the right project to use it.
I’ve been on and off “the road” for the past 40 years as a musician and the LOW ROAD is always the best route.
It all became apparent to me on June 25th of 2017, when I rolled up to the Daryl’s House venue in Pawling, New York, for a concert with my band of ace musicians.
Buzz Campbell, a guitarist without equal and a master of rock and rockabilly. Larry Mitchell, a veteran drummer and consummate musician, and on keyboard and guitar, Joey Eights, a true all around talent.
Every song performed in this concert is a piece of music that I have a personal connection with, from my founding days of the Stray Cats, through my time with Carl Perkins, Scotty Moore, as well as my many Lee Rocker records, tours and recording sessions.
This record is a “cherry picked” set of my music and memories both old and new.
We captured that night’s performance on film as well as audio using Daryl Hall’s top notch studio and team.
This is a recording I’m proud of, and I’m happy to share it.
